Starvation As A Weapon of War

HOW FOOD AND STARVATION ARE USED AND WEAPONIZED IN GLOBAL WARFARE

Food and resources may become scarce during times of warfare. This occurs due to a number of reasons but is also often intentionally applied as a form of collective punishment and as a weapon. We are currently witnessing the use of collective starvation as a weapon of war in several areas globally.

This lecture will explore:
– The Right to Food in light of global conflict
– How food can and is weaponized
– Short- and long-term effects of weaponized starvation
– How collective starvation is being used across the globe, and specifically in the Gaza Strip

This lecture approaches the topic from the perspective of health and healthcare professionals but it is open for all to attend.
