Israel violates every ceasefire, numerous times, every time.
And every ceasefire comes with a concession of Palestinian rights, dignity, and humanity dictated by the very terror forces who spent days, weeks, months, and years destroying Palestinian life and lives.
This is why it is vital that we continue applying pressure on Israel and the institutions that profit from Israeli aggression against Palestinians. Now is the time to join Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions efforts locally, nationally, and globally. In Champaign-Urbana, you can join the No Appetite for Apartheid in CU campaign found on our website.
A quick timeline of this ceasefire:
- Oct. 10: ceasefire took effect
- It left 58% of the Gaza Strip (up to the ‘yellow line’) under the control of the Israeli terror forces.
- Oct. 14: 7+ Palestinians killed and dozens injured by Israel while inspecting their homes or at medical facilities
- Oct. 17: Israel kills 11 Palestinian family members by tank shell
- Oct. 19: 42 Palestinians killed when Israel bombed the Gaza Strip with 153 tons of explosives.
- Oct. 20: Israel had violated the ‘ceasefire’ more than 80 times killing nearly 100 Palestinians and injuring 230+.
- Oct. 21: Only 989 aid trucks entered the Gaza out of the mandated 6,600.
- Oct. 24: Israel has 40 military posts beyond the ‘yellow line’ to which Israeli terror forces were supposed to withdraw to.
This does not include the escalation of violence being witnessed in the occupied West Bank, which includes but is not limited to: more than 1,000 Palestinians killed by Israeli terror forces or settlers, skyrocketing settler violence, 900+ checkpoints and multiple cities completely encircled restricting movement, and Israel’s continued building and expansion of its illegal settlement.
