Champaign-Urbana Muslim Action Committee (CU MAC) stands outraged and disgusted at Israel’s bombing in Doha, Qatar—an act of terror and war carried out on sovereign land, even as ceasefire talks for Gaza were underway. The strike in Qatar was aimed at killing negotiators as they attempt to reach conditions allowing a ceasefire.
This criminal escalation is yet another chapter in Israel’s relentless campaign of violence across the Middle East.
For nearly two years, the world has witnessed Israel starve Palestinians, bomb civilian infrastructure, target hospitals, kill thousands of children, and displace millions. The United Nations has recognized Israel’s actions as war crimes, and countless human rights organizations have documented their systematic brutality. Yet, instead of cutting ties, the United States continues to arm, fund, and shield Israel from accountability.
CU MAC further condemns the U.S. administration for its shameful complicity. By sending billions in military aid and refusal to hold Israel accountable, our country is actively complicit in genocide. This is not foreign policy—it is a moral failure.
As the international community expresses alarm, CU MAC joins the chorus of voices demanding:
- An immediate end to all U.S. military aid and financial support to Israel.
- International accountability for Israel’s crimes against humanity.
- Genuine protection and justice for Palestinians and all people in the region under Israeli assault.
We invite our local community to join us in boycotting Israeli goods, and continuing to apply pressure in any way available to us to stop these acts of Israeli terror.
