SHARE Champaign-Urbana Muslim Action Committee welcomes local church initiatives at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to educate congregation and greater community on Islam and Palestine.
Four events will take place over the next eight weeks at local churches to educate on Islam and Palestine. CU Muslim Action Committee (CU MAC) welcomes these events in our community. In March, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign will hold two events to educate on Palestine. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will host an event in April with on Islam and one in May on understanding Palestine.
“Anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian hate and rhetoric continue to rise with an escalation in violence over the past few weeks across the nation so it is heartwarming to see local churches take up the role of educating not only their congregants but also creating events that are open to the broader community,” says Dua Aldasouqi, CU MAC member.
